Information you provide
We collect personally identifiable information (PII) only when you voluntarily provide it:
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a contact form.
- Name and message content — when you submit a contact form or tip.
We do not collect social security numbers, payment information, or government-issued ID numbers.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through Google Analytics 4 (GA4):

- General geographic location (country, region — not street-level)

This data is collected in aggregate and is used to understand how visitors use the Site. We do not use GA4 to identify individuals.

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process data on your behalf:

- Resend — transactional email for newsletters and contact form responses.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored and used to send you traffic updates and alerts. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing us at tips@longislandtraffic.com.
We do not share newsletter subscriber lists with third parties.
Data Retention
Contact form submissions and tips are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Newsletter subscriber emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention settings (14 months by default).
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at tips@longislandtraffic.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
